2010 Tournament Results

 

This year’s Tournament raised approximately J$1.6M (US$18,600) for the Port Maria Hospital, the Three Hills Primary School, the Hamilton Mountain Basic School and Animal House – a local animal shelter - all located in St. Mary and St. Ann. parishes   To date, the Tournament has raised close to J$10,000,000 (US$116,280) for local charities.

 

It was announced at the Tournament by the CEO of Couples Resorts, Glenn Lawrence, that one-third of the money raised would be donated to Haiti relief and this amount would be matched by Couples Resorts,

totaling J$1,000,000 (US$11,630).  A presentation was made at the Couples Resorts Head Office in February by Petronia Brooks, Group Financial Controller of Couples Resorts, to Baldwin Powell, chairman of the Western Chapter of Food for the Poor.  Alex Ghisays, Group PR Director, and a member of the Tournament’s Organizing Committee, was also present.  

 

The Tournament attracted 62 players, many of them local.  The sponsors included Caribbean Producers, Advantage General Insurance, Fraser Fontaine & Kong, Globe Insurance, ICWI, NEM, West Indies Alliance, Dolphin Cove, Lyric Villa, Tifosi Eyewear and Caribbean Outdoor.

 

First prize in the Open Division went to Greg Wright and Warren Ersley, who won a three  night stay at a Couples Resort while the second place went to Cary Nattoo and Robert Smith, who won two night stays at a Couples Resort.  Other prizes were given for the Putting Contest - won by Clive Allen, Wayne Sutherland and Chuck Salayi; Closest to the Line (Male & Female) – won by Sean Morris and Michelle Gabay and Closest to the Pin (Male and Female) – won by Cary Nattoo and Marnie Savic.
